Is Bell Pepper safe for Guinea Pigs?

302

Safe!

Up to 7 days a week

Guinea pigs can eat bell peppers because they are a delicious addition to a varied diet and are high in vitamin C, which is essential for their health. However, some kinds of bell pepper are high in oxalic acid, which can be harmful to guinea pigs in large amounts. Despite this, the majority of oxalate found in urine is produced by the body, rather than absorbed from food, so moderate consumption of bell peppers should not be harmful.

Vitamin C (per 100g): 193.1 mg
Calcium (per 100g): 16 mg
